The traditional coupling is plagued with a number of maintenance issues that include lubrication, backlash, heat and humidity, and the visibility of the coupling teeth which prevent unwarranted shutdowns.

Regal Rexnord^® Kop-Flex^® disc couplings are the solution to the traditional gear coupling's shortcomings. Lubrication is not required, they are dynamically stable during operation. They have no backlash and they are not adversely affected by heat and humidity. Perhaps most importantly, the disc couplings' condition can be inspected while the machine is running.
